Supporting hofer powertrain UK as I transitioned out of the business.

Responsible for the setup, strategy definition, daily management and growth of hofer Groups presence in the UK - now over 100 people. hofer powertrain UK, based in Warwick, is a production focused automotive engineering company delivering clean sheet powertrain designs in to production for Global OEMs. As part of the hofer Group (Germany) the UK team uses the 35+ years of production design and delivery experience from the 7 sites in Germany to ensure that a hofer Group quality product is delivered locally to UK customers.

hofer, established in the 1980's, is a privately owned, German based, automotive engineering consultancy employing over 400 skilled personnel. We work with many of the world’s automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and automotive technology centres and have numerous powertrain components in mass production including hofer designed electric motors and hybrid modules to full dual clutch transmissions.With numerous offices across Germany, Austria, Italy, America, China and the UK, hofer has a truly global presence allowing comprehensive support for powertrain projects across all vehicle sectors.- Specific sites setup to support many of the German OEMs- hofer mechatronik GmbH (Part of the hofer group) is the largest independent automotive hydraulics consultancy in the world and specialises in the provision of complete hydraulic control units for transmission applications.- Involved in many current and future AT, AMT, DCT and MT volume transmission design projects from clean sheet to production- hofer has its own inverter / electric control technology and has designed hybrid modules and e-motors that are in production across the world- Full design to production experience of hybrid powertrain technologies from energy storage to the road- Full engine and motor driven test capability- Low volume production capability

Caperol Technologies is focussed on automotive transmissions and programme and process management as well as a variety of consultancy services including the integrated, interim management of departments within an organisation and the strategic definition of the ongoing business activities. Some of the previous customers include:Antonov PLC 2009 - 2011 : Responsible for the provision of management, risk and timing expertise to ensure the smooth running of the 40+ employee research and development company based in the Midlands. Ricardo PLC 2007 – 2009 : Responsible through Caperol Technologies for the project management of the main transmission related program including all technical and financial aspects.

Responsible for:The project management and technical leadership of the main customer programme. Use of a dedicated engineering resource pool The development of the analytical capabilities of the company including the acquisition of a suitable finite element analysis program as well as a shaft, gear and bearing analysis package. Responsible for the main analytical work including shaft and bearing specification and sizing, finite element analysis of components, customer demonstrations, procedure development and education and coordination of the analysis methods amongst engineers.

Responsible for:Leading the transmission analysis team responsible for the classical assessment and conceptual sizing of transmission components. Technical leadership and project management of a team assessing and improving the shift quality (feels and efforts) of an OEM's vehicles. Business development, project management and technical leadership to support the simulation and development group. Responsibility for benchmarking work stream and project delivery including cost down, component reviews and efficiency testing. Clean sheet concept development including classical assessment and initial sizing of key transmission components.
