My name is Craig Hicks. I am a 21-year-old senior student at Eastern Kentucky University. I am from King William, Virginia and have mad my way to Kentucky for the PGA Golf Management Program. I am an avid golfer and am pursuing a career in the golf industry. My passion for the golf industry kicked off during my junior year of high school when I organized and directed a golf tournament, which raised over $5,000 for the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation to help children with pediatric cancer. Media and reporting are also passions of mine. With that being said, I have public relations experience for eight consecutive years of helping Richmond International Raceway’s PR department on their two race weekends. I am pursuing minors in both public relations and journalism. As far as my experience in the golf industry is concerned, I have worked at public and resort green grass facilities. In high school, I worked at Queenfield Golf Club in my hometown. My major requires me to complete four internships throughout my time at EKU. My first was at Wintergreen Resort. For my second, I decided to invest in my interest. I went to work for PGA Magazine, writing articles, managing the website, and continuously updating social media outlets. I recently was in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida working at the PGA of America in the public relations department. My ultimate goal is to work my final internship at the Golf Channel and stay there to begin my career as a golf professional. My hope is to become a commentator and help grow the game of golf through my passion for the game and my work ethic.
