Designed & implemented the server side of the new client/server Maintenance Management System (MMS 4.1), in C# .NET 3.5 on Windows XP with compatibility for Windows 7. Updated legacy MMS components (in VB6) for compatibility with the new server.Performed unit testing for all new and existing features (including client interface), and limited formal validation, all on both XP and Windows 7. Also tested C# server connectivity and functionality with VPI (Vital Processor Interlocking) hardware. Worked with hardware engineers to diagnose and solve data protocol issues (including timing) between MMS and VPI.

Designed & implemented UI for text message capability on the Falcon III hand-held radio, in C++ on a QNX 6 embedded platform. (Created text edit widget to work within limitations of two-line text input display on the radio.)Performed software impact evaluation of two potential GPS receiver replacements for the radio, focused on differences in new command protocols versus current implementation. (Documented NMEA protocol differences for GPS receiver solutions: Fastrax IT520, Navman Jupiter J-F2.)

Integrated TAS 5.4.1 (TotalNet Advanced Server) into DigiMaster 9110 printer communications software. Designed and implemented printer-resident license manager application. Designed and implemented NT4 dll for license generation (callout from Lotus Notes). Wrote custom dump and restore utilities to preserve customer specified data, excluding non-local and document library data. Wrote disk usage daemon to alert operator when local file systems are almost full.Custom dump/restore utilities permitted tapeless reinstalls and upgrades without loss of configuration settings or customer data.Disk monitoring permitted operator to rectify space problems before job stream failed.
