This was a seasonal position I took working in a shop operating CAD machines such as DESTINY and JET STREAM. I was also an installer during this time as well. Duties Included...Pre-Installation Assessment: Before installation begins, assess the space where the countertop will be installed. Verify measurements to ensure the countertop will fit properly and identify any potential obstacles or challenges that may need to be addressed. Preparing the Workspace: Clear the area where the countertop will be installed of any debris, appliances, or existing countertops. Ensure that the space is clean and accessible for installation. Transporting the Countertop: Safely transport the countertop to the installation site, taking care to avoid any damage during transit. This may involve using specialized equipment such as dollies or cranes for larger or heavier countertops. Placement and Alignment: Carefully place the countertop in its designated location and ensure that it is properly aligned with surrounding cabinets, walls, and other fixtures. Use shims or other leveling materials as needed to achieve a flat and stable surface. Securing the Countertop: Once the countertop is in position, secure it in place using appropriate fasteners or adhesives. Ensure that the countertop is securely attached to the cabinets or support structure to prevent any movement or instability. Sealing and Finishing: If necessary, apply sealant or finish to the countertop surface to protect it from stains, moisture, and damage. Follow manufacturer recommendations for application and curing times to ensure effective protection. Trimming and Edging: Trim any excess material from the countertop edges and apply edge treatments or trim pieces as desired to create a finished look. Ensure that all edges are smooth and free of sharp corners or rough areas. Cleanup and Inspection: Clean the installation area thoroughly, removing any debris, dust, or adhesive residue. Inspect the countertop installation carefully to ensure that it meets quality standards and that the client's expectations have been met.
