Responsible for a $13 billion investment portfolio for the purpose of (i) providing sufficient liquidity to fund Member loans and support daily operations, (ii) balancing the interest rate risk profile of the credit union with investments that complement its balance sheet, and (iii) maximizing the return to the credit union’s Membership. This position is also responsible for the credit union’s hedge positions which include interest rate swaps and term advances. Manage deposit pricing and monitor Member deposits to ensure stable funding for Member loans.Chair of the Investment Committee. Developed and implemented the credit union’s capital planning and stress testing program which included building a team of analysts to develop sophisticated statistical models to project all aspects of the credit union’s business under a number of economic scenarios. Developed the resulting capital plan and presented financial results / analysis / recommendations to the Board of Directors, management committees, and senior leadership.Managed the interest rate risk program which included financial modeling to assess and report interest rate risk exposure. Managed the liquidity risk program to assess and report liquidity risk exposure.Managed a $13 billion investment portfolio as well as the credit union’s hedging activities which included interest rate swaps and term advances.
