I have expertise in database analysis and design, project management, and software development in web-based environments, primarily using Oracle and associated tools, and have a strong track record of successfully managing multiple assignments simultaneously. I began my career as a programmer, moved into database administration and then management, and most recently have served as the liaison between the technical team and both upper management and outside clients to design and implement business process improvements. If I have a secret weapon, it's my ability to clearly explain complex technical issues in plain language, and likewise, to accurately explain detailed business requirements in technical terms. Throughout my career I've found that the following three general policies consistently produce positive results, and I try to incorporate them in all my work:* Open Communication – I favor having regular status check-ins to report progress, discuss new issues, and respond to open questions. * Setting Priorities – Clearly defining the top priorities are key to organizing our work, and I'm a fan of Stephen Covey's matrix approach to time management. We all come to work everyday to solve problems; let's maximize the value of that time.* Deadlines Matter – If an unexpected complication arises during a project, it's best to immediately allocate resources to remain on schedule -- it's no fun to realize you have to sprint for the last half of the race, when instead you could have finished at the same time by running just a little faster earlier.As a relatively new resident of Boise, I am looking forward to learning about my new city and participating in the many wonderful activities that are available here
