Remote position monitoring network and LTE cell site parameters of Ericsson 6000 series equipment. Duties also include generating reports, data analysis, site visits for troubleshooting, auditing and inspection in addition to customer support of internet and IoT devices.

Offsite consulting engineer for HarborPoint Networks, LLC a subsity of HavenSys Technologies, LLC, responsible for design of WIFI and networking systems for clients . Duties include reviewing customer needs, site survey data, and blueprints for recommendations of system design. Additional roles include reviewing IP network security recommendations for placement of firewall and network intrusion detection apparatus, in addition to R&D of future products and services.

Responsible for maintaining Qwest’s fiber optic internet backbone, customer and peering routers. Responsibilities include resolving problems with high volume customer and peering issues, lower level engineering escalations, BGP routing and traffic shaping, bug & hardware issues with CISCO 12000 series backbone and Juniper Networks M Series customer routers with the equipment manufacturer. Some secondary responsibilities included acceptance control of production equipment and performing proactive & reactive equipment maintenance. Additionally, I also handled parts procurement, field personnel dispatches, IOS & hardware upgrades and network customer notifications.

Lead shift engineer in Qwest’s IP Network Operations Center (NOC). Responsible for monitoring Qwest’s customer routers based on CISCO and Juniper routers, testing of DS0 and DS3 circuits, insure proper mapping of telecom circuits and helping customers with denial of service issues.  Also responsible for training of personnel and monitoring of Qwest backbone routers in addition to preparing shift report for other shifts and management to keep abreast of in progress work and escalations.

Contractor to Litel Communications International (LCI).  Assisted in setting up a new IP Network Operations Center (NOC) in LCI’s new headquarters for IP customers monitoring which had been monitored by an outside vendor.  Responsibilities include managing, maintenance and troubleshooting customer connectivity with CISCO routers to the internet and private intranets. Assisted in migration and monitoring of SupraNet’s IP network and Qwest’s IP network upon the mergers with LCI.

Contractor to Litel Communications International (LCI). Assisted in setting up a new Network Operations Center (NOC) and migrate customers from legacy ATM/Frame Relay network to an Ascend and Fore Systems network.  Upon migration, responsible for monitoring the network and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment from the customer smartjack, CSU/DSU, through telco DACS, OCU’s, head to head testing with other telcos to end point, to final closure of trouble tickets.  Also trained NOC personnel in remote testing procedures, line mapping and various in-house software.

Contractor to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC).  Responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting of FDIC’s WAN/LAN, firewall, NT servers, web servers, and various other network resources in support of the FDIC’s mission and outside supporting contract companies.  Also responsible for configuration and installation of networking equipment, CISCO routers, switches, hubs, distributed sniffers, network monitoring consoles, and remote access management systems.

Contractor to Aeronautical Radio Inc. (ARINC).  Manage ARINC’s X.25 international packet switching data communications network and it’s associated sub-systems, including gateways and wide area networks (WAN). Manage the successful resolution of customer inquiries and complaints on user connectivity.  Manage the coordination of hardware, software, and personnel in the resolution of equipment failures. Perform fault isolation testing utilizing Racal-Datacom CMS-400, Telenex Interview data scopes, and FERAM data monitoring systems. Perform circuit restoral actions by employing CMS-400 dial backup system.  Act as liaison with commercial carriers during circuit failures. Produce system outage reports, and daily system batch reports. Monitor multiple system consoles, screens, and other alarm-generating status devices simultaneously and react immediately to signs of service degradation. Also train employees for troubleshooting ARINC, TCP/IP networks, monitoring CISCO routers, web servers, and other associated hardware supporting ARINC’s new airline industry private TCP/IP network.

Involved as onsite technical contractor to U.S. Sprint.  Duties include remote testing of data transmission lines, support of technical repair operations for ‘SprintNet’ and America Online Net (AOLNET) data network and follow up resolution of trouble tickets.  Position involved the use of a variety of software packages for testing and recording of results, provided training in US Robotics Total Control configurations, troubleshooting, public switched telephone network (PSTN) principles, CISCO router configuration, X.25, TCP/IP protocols, and a variety of communications tools.

Provided RF engineering staff support in cellular and digital PCS system design, optimization, cell tower AM perturbation studies, R&D of mobile RSSI test gear for internal use, drive testing, FCC filing, preparation and drafting of presentation exhibits.  Also responsible for system administration, internet connectivity of local LAN upgrades of PC/mini-computer environment, and addressing security needs.

Assisted in forming and operating two divisions; Intercom Micro Systems, a custom computer manufacture, repair services sales company, and IMS Intercom an Internet Service Provider (ISP).  Tasks included hiring of proposal writers and contract procurement personnel, system engineering and integration, system administration, purchasing and advertising.
