Hello, my name is Will Karaces. I am currently a structural engineer at Sargent and Lundy, where I do structural design work on electrical substations. In my time at college as an undergraduate, I have learned a lot about civil engineering. I have done lots of group work and learned how to manage my time efficiently. I took classes in all the sub disciplines of civil engineering, and now have the chance to specialize in strucural engineering. I also participated in several club as an undergraduate. I was the Service and Fundraising Chair for the American Society of Civil Engineers at Rowan where I organized 6 fundraisers and coordinated 90 hours of community service between the whole chapter. I also served as Inter Fraternal Council Reprehensive for my fraternity Tau Epsilon Phi. I even took the role of Captain and Social Chair for the Club Ultimate Frisbee team where I was in charge of recruitment. I have also been working at Azimuth Engineering Group as an intern for about two year. Here, I mainly assisted with drafting using AutoCAD to create construction drawings and lease exhibits. I also completed many site visits to both existing and proposed telecommunication sites to plan proposed construction or preform post construction inspections. I even wrote and edited strucural reports based on results from models developed in RISA 3-D.
