As a summer legal intern at Hart Brown I shadowed both a probate and commercial solicitor. My tasks primarily consisted of ordering correspondence between clients and the firm as well as taking official notes at client meetings. Crucially, I did not let the junior nature of my role stop me from maximally drawing upon the rich resources made available to me. I therefore endeavoured to research legislation relating to probate and inheritance and then contextualise my understanding on a case by case basis. This undertaking provided me with an enriched appreciation for the tasks I was entrusted to perform.
