- Developed a system to migrate the entire company’s incident-tracking data (including all current and historical tickets going back 20+ years) from a legacy third-party ticketing system, into Amazon’s unified issue management system.- Designed a new storage subsystem for Amazon’s issue management system, in order to push beyond existing scaling limits and increase availability.

- Leading engineer for the Amazon Music SDK program, enabling Amazon Music streaming on a variety of third-party devices. The SDK includes a REST API, a reference client implementation, and documentation.- Developed a deep integration between Amazon Music and the Echo Show device family, with interactions tailored to a hybrid voice/visual experience.- Built a service aggregation platform that assembles data from several back-end services for consumption by Amazon Music clients. Clients use server-side JavaScript to define custom aggregation logic tailored to their needs and query patterns.- Built a prototype of a streaming radio service (which later formed the basis of Prime Stations). Designed a “DJ” interface that allowed multiple radio programming algorithms to be developed with a common interface, so that they could be evaluated using A/B tests.- Built APIs that allowed second-generation Kindle tablets to display content and metadata about artists (such as biographies and artist photos).- Designed and built a mechanism to replicate content uploaded by record labels and artist management to multiple marketplaces/regions around the world.- Implemented the back-end components of a system that serves contextual recommendations to Amazon Cloud Player customers while they are listening to music.
