Schedule personnel to provide coverage for various maintenance activities and still maintain daily coverage for MDA’s Virtual Center of Excellence (VCE) Team. Assign appropriate personnel resources to tasks and projects to ensure successful completion. Collaborate with MDA architects and engineers on future designs to ensure new projects will not negatively impact the existing virtual infrastructure. Improve processes within the VCE to make day-to-day activities more efficient.

Responsible for project reviews that included evaluating change packages and validating the impact to Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the virtual environments. Provide technical expertise, oversight and management of the virtual environment baseline configuration based upon best practices. Act as the entry point for improving automation and execution of routine operational activities. Determine appropriate thresholds and ensure the provisioning of meaningful error messages that assist in the design and population of tools used to filter, correlate and escalate events that indicate a root cause.

Responsible for the consolidation of SQL Servers and databases resulting in cutting Enterprise SQL CPU license requirements from 73 to 31 and Standard SQL CPU license requirements from 51 to 31. Install, configure, operate, and maintain database systems across the MDA enterprise network. Research and apply best business practices for the design and administration of databases; assist with the creation and maintenance of standard database policies, operating procedures, and overall documentation.
