This role is within a high profile department that is government contracted. I have many responsibilities, including ensuring that appropriate decisions were made on the suitability of applicants for senior marking/team leader positions. I manage the development, refinement, user testing and finalisation of the Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling training, practice and standardisation materials that are used to ensure all markers are trained to apply the mark scheme reliably.

This role was as subject leader for Science and Health and Social Care BTEC for Pearson’s new next generation qualifications. I managed a team of internal and external assessment associates who I directed to produce external tests, internal verification, authorised assignment briefs and other centre training materials. I also managed and presented at training events for quality assurance and standards aspects for this team. I led on awarding actions, which allowed me to work with statistics, setting grade boundaries and presenting them in an understandable and easy-to-access format within tight immovable deadlines.

Managing contracts for Westpac, Sodexo and CBA. Main duties included; communication with both clients and technicians to organise and schedule project, maintenance and service works. Sourcing parts and hire for relevant works from regular and new suppliers. Full management of the contract from entering job cards to the IMAN system to working margins ensuring viability and profitability of proposed works, through to compiling the invoice.

I took up a 2 year trainee position trading sterling cash. I was assisting senior brokers by receiving and displaying tradable prices. Establishing potential trading positions and ensuring the senior brokers were made aware of the potential business opportunity. Processing paper and electronic tickets, providing clients with up to date market information, compiling a daily recap of long and short dated prices and LIBOR positions from the prior day. Also assisting with client liaisons to develop relationships and assessing the customer’s needs. I then graduated to a full broking position trading Corporate Euro Repurchases. I was responsible for developing client relationships and trading with clients including Royal Bank of Canada, JP Morgan and Bear Sterns. This was a very challenging role as the competition to win business ahead of other brokers was very high and my salary was mainly commission based. In this role, I was responsible for communicating with my clients in order to establish trading positions. Using Bloomberg, current market data and prices from other brokers to research suitable stock. Negotiating and executing trades that suited my client’s needs.
