Planning and Lands Division has a lead role in fulfilling the Government of Nunavut's obligations under Article 14 (Municipal Lands) of the Nunavut Agreement. Interdepartmental working group for review and comment on the 2021 Draft Nunavut Land Use Plan. • Contaminated Sites Liability Working Group member (Feb. 2022 – Present). Interdepartmental working group for decision-making on management of contaminated sites and associated environmental liabilities.

Review and update of “Community drainage planning, design, and maintenance in northern communities” National Standard of Canada. Community land-use planning services for Nunavut municipalities, practicing within the frameworks of the Planning Act and the Nunavut Agreement. Contributions include: coordination of land-use planning activities, such as updating Community Plans and Zoning By-laws; regulatory review of land-use planning proposals, such as sketch/survey plans and by-law amendments; providing expertise to stakeholders and among interdisciplinary colleagues; public consultation and giving presentations to municipal Councils and other audiences; physical design of subdivisions using CAD software; policy development, interpretation, and enforcement; and, administration of daily activities, such as: correspondence, desktop publishing, research, and database management.Notable contribution: • Land Referendum Public Meetings (Jan. - Mar. 2016). Participated in public awareness campaign in 15 Nunavut communities for the May 9, 2016 Land Referendum. The referendum question was whether municipalities should be given the right to sell Municipal Lands, and was undertaken as a requirement of the Nunavut Agreement Article 14.8.4.
