Current Student at Colorado State University, Graduating in May 2016 with a degree in Fermentation Science and Technology with a minor in Food Science/Food Safety.I got to college and like many others, had no real plan about what I wanted to do with my life. I started out as a biochemistry major, considered several other avenues and switched into health and exercise science. These clearly reflect a passion for science, and while I loved learning about them, I couldn't see myself enjoying my work once I got into my field. I found out that what I was missing was the creative process and the ability to make something substantial, that could be appreciated at the end of the day. I heard about the Fermentation Science major through a friend, and switched into it the next semester. My appreciation for all things beer quickly grew as I started homebrewing, tasting, and networking at breweries in Fort Collins. My passion for craft beer made school enjoyable and it was easy to apply myself to learning about something I love. I have learned a lot in my classes, but am not so naive to think that because I have a degree I know everything there is to know about brewing. The rabbit hole goes as deep as you want it to, and there are many lessons I've left to learn. I've come to the end of my school career and was able to land an internship working in the cellar at Oskar Blues Brewery in Longmont, Colorado for the summer of 2016.
Listed skills include Brewing, Critical Thinking, Highly Personable, Computer Proficiency, and 9 others.
