City of Memphis Office of Emergency Management (OEM) intern assisting Emergency Management Specialists, Coordinators, and Director with operating the city Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Part of my role as an intern was to assist with inventory and maintenance of the Memphis OEM’s supply warehouse containing equipment capable of rapidly setting up field hospitals in the event mass care and triage is warranted. The City of Memphis OEM maintains close relationships with the Shelby Co. EOC and the Mid-South Emergency Planning Coalition. As an intern I was fortunate to sit in on interagency meetings with these groups and participate with planning exercises.
