Since October 2017, I've been working as an Environmental Consultant in Cambridgeshire with experience planning and executing Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA's) across the UK in accordance with the model procedures set out by the Environment Agency and DEFRA. Experienced in organising and risk-assessing intrusive site investigations using machinery including various drilling rigs, in challenging environments from petrol stations to active military bases, with onsite contamination ranging from asbestos to degraded fuel oil. Also experienced in practical site investigation techniques including infiltration testing, soil gas and groundwater monitoring, and cone penetrometer testing.Desk-based skills include analysis and interpretation of environmental and geo-technical laboratory data in order to advise on soil/groundwater contamination status, possible remediation methods, waste material classification, foundation, pavement, and drainage design; and the suitability of proposed developments. Also proficient in producing preliminary or detailed Flood Risk Assessments for the site in England and Wales, including flood risks due to climate change, as well as recommending the necessary flood defences. Consequently, I'm also well versed in software such as Holebase for creating detailed soil logs, and CAD software to produce Conceptual Site Models.Additional skills include clear and concise report writing, risk assessment, conceptual model construction, project management and delivery.Educational background includes graduating from Royal Holloway, University of London with an MSci in Geoscience with Year of International Study in Phoenix, Arizona, having undertaken geological mapping of north-west Scotland's Moine Thrust.
