With my colleagues Lisa, Duncan, Michael and James, I am a co-inventor of a breakthrough leak detection technology. this is an active long range system that has 25X the range of a correlator and takes just 15 minutes to set up and collect readings. This device is similar to but not a sonar. It uses a patented micro-pulse instead of sound waves. Soundwaves attenuate within 300 meters in a pipe however the micro-pulse keeps on going. Currently we range to 7.5 km but can go much further.My mission in life is to conserve resources and energy. I want to stop unnecessary potable water loss.Globally about 30% of potable water is lost in hidden leaks. The new sensor can accurately detect these leaks up to 7.5 km away however the technology is capable of much further. This represents a significant improvement over the existing state of art (correlators, passive hydrophones, ultrasonic microphones etc).
