He is a published author and contributor to business and academic journals His book on executing social and business change, POLITICAL WILL, Bending the Arc of History, published in 2020, documents the creation of USIP.His latest book, EVOLVE, The Journey to PACEM 2050, published in 2023, focuses on the nexus of evolutionary biology, sustainability and peace, offering a prescriptive social change strategy to better manage social polarization and efforts to mitigate the threat of climate change to our species. He has led change efforts in six Fortune Fifty companies and been a mediator in four civil wars. He is an expert in conflict resolution, managing change and collaborative action.His large scale change management experience has been successfully delivered on six continents with governments and corporations in areas of strategic partnerships, product development, brand reinvention, manufacturing, strategic planning, conflict resolution, visioning, organizational and global market development. He has served as a principal consultant to major organization change efforts at John Hancock, GE, Arthur Andersen, Ford Motor Company, Andersen Consulting, Mercedes Benz North America, ARCO, and others. He is a hands-on, facilitative leader and peace and social justice advocate. William Spencer currently serves as a Principal in the Spencer Legacy Group. For more than a decade he co-directed the Maui Transitions Center that served more than 40 CEO’s and executives, among others, as they faced life decisions and issues of personal transition. He has been a Managing Partner of two successful business consulting practices with more than twenty years of business, and change management experience.He is the lead architect of PACEM 2050. Will was formerly the Director of the federal commission and Executive Director of the National Peace Academy Campaign that led to the creation of the United States Institute of Peace. He was instrumental in the founding of the International Negotiation Network at the Carter Center of Emory University.Will graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a double major in Biology and American Studies. He was a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, with an emphasis in arms control and area studies.He and his spouse, Dayle Spencer, live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
