This API facility was inherited at 30% of construction and in a very poor state of design. A plan was quickly formulated and executed to efficiently turn the project around and put in place an appropriate engineering firm to correct and finish the design while keeping construction moving. Changed the project execution strategy from self-perform construction management to General Contractor single source responsibility. Put in place proper change management and risk management plans.

Mr. Suarez was a principal player in the launch of the IPS Indianapolis office. As the Midwest Regional Manager, Mr. Suarez was responsible for running the office, business development and account management. He was also responsible for project management and engineering management of all Midwest projects. His office was the first IPS office to successfully implement the multi-office project model in the early 2010s, where disciplines and SMEs were managed remotely and projects were run in a virtual and web-based format using Webex and Adobe Acrobat.

Mr. Suarez started a new mechanical engineering department in the Carmel IN engineering office of CPI Plants. He hired mechanical engineers, set up engineering standards and ran the new department.
