This role involves me dealing with urgent 999 calls as well as non-emergency contacts such as 101 calls, emails and webchats. Daily I am tasked with dealing with highly stressful and dangerous situations, whereby my actions and advice directly impact the subject of that situation. 999 calls can range from ongoing domestics, mass brawls, stabbings and knife point robberies, all of which I am competently able to handle getting information accurately and making sure the caller is safe whilst getting them help. The flip side of the fast-paced calls, are the calls where someone may be at crisis point wanting to end their life on a bridge, the situation itself is very fast moving, however I am able to communicate and negotiate in a calm and collected manner showing empathy whilst doing it. 101 calls, whilst not quick actioned, can still be highly distressing with individuals recounting sexual assaults or sudden deaths of loved ones. This role has given me experience dealing with a very wide variety of life experiences, I feel competent accurately recording data navigating multiple IT systems and providing a high level of customer service and complying with all data rules. Gaining a general knowledge of criminal law, the justice system and civilian law and providing advice within these areas.

I have provided vulnerable people with essential vaccines to protect them from Covid-19 and assisted the majority in returning to a more normal sense of living. This role has provided medical experience and a further understanding of vaccines and their differences in working.

I worked with Devon County Council as full time reablement support worker. This role included helping those who had come out of hospital and may be injured or recovering from illness, by promoting independence over a full-time care package. I cared and supported individuals to recover at home and help them to adjust from hospital life to being back at home, being independent again with their life (personal care, cleaning, cooking, and remembering how to live). Day to day every situation was different, I dealt with individuals with a variety of needs from a multitude of backgrounds, where no two people were the same. I am well versed working with various types of mental health ailments, as well as learning disabilities and physical disabilities.

Mainly employed and operated in the replenishment section, however I became fully till trained shortly after expressing my interest in learning all aspects of the working environment. This had given me a great understanding and I have gained knowledge about; safety in the workplace, conflict resolution and de-escaltion, stock rotation and how to mediate and negotiate difficult situations. This was originally a 13 week temporary position but was extended to a permanent contract.

Undertaking many roles in this position have given me an experience within a fast paced, front facing role, including; hosting and seating customers with a high level of quality and care, taking orders and processing payments, preparing and serving drinks, the efficient delivery of food, food and basic hygiene as well as back of house teamwork and cleanliness.
