With over three years of experience in journalism, community engagement, and youth leadership, I have developed a strong foundation in communication, project management, and youth mentorship. My academic journey at North Carolina Central University, where I am pursuing a degree in Business Marketing and participating as a Cheatham-White Scholar, has enriched my skills in leadership, entrepreneurship, and public service.My professional experience includes working as a Journalism Intern for WUNC, where I honed my skills in community journalism, storytelling, and amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities. I have also held multiple roles in youth advocacy, including serving as a Changemaker Champion at The Resiliency Collaborative, where I facilitated community-based projects aimed at social justice and improving the lives of local residents.In addition to my work in journalism and community engagement, I have taken on leadership roles at NCCU as the Honors Program Freshman Class Representative. This position allows me to foster connections between students, faculty, and alumni while advocating for student entrepreneurship and engagement. My work extends beyond university walls, as I have been an active participant in programs like the REI Wake County State Panel and YMCA of the Triangle, contributing to youth empowerment and educational initiatives.Throughout my high school years, I served in various leadership capacities, including as Senior Class Treasurer and Vice President of the Sophomore Class Council. I have been recognized for my academic achievements as a National Honor Society member and have also excelled in athletics, participating in both varsity football and wrestling, where I earned All Academic honors for two consecutive years.My extracurricular involvement includes leadership in clubs like the NCCU Entrepreneurship Club, Political Science Club, and SRMHS Yearbook, along with volunteer work with organizations such as the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC and Wake Up & Read. These experiences have shaped my ability to work in diverse teams, manage multiple responsibilities, and remain committed to giving back to my community.Looking ahead, I am open to opportunities in sports, marketing, and political internships, where I can apply my skills in communication, strategic planning, and leadership to make meaningful contributions.
