Design new IBM SAN storage solution to replace the existing SAN and EMC storage for Rogers. Design and implement DR solution using SVC Global Mirror (using DWDM and Brocade Integrated Routing) and virtual tape library remote replication.Develop and implement the migration plan to migrate data from the existing EMC storage to the new IBM storage.Design and implement virtual SAN disk environment using SVC.Configure EMC DMX-4 under SVC. Being a technical lead and key resource to plan and implement new projects in Bank of Nova Scotia SAN/Storage environment. I am always the first person to install/configure and test new systems and new functionalities, such as DS8300, SVC, copy services etc. I transfer the skill to the team members after I successfully setup the new environment,.Support and manage Bank of Nova Scotia SAN/Storage environment which includes more than 50 SAN switches (Brocade) in a core-edge configuration with 500+ servers connected, 4 SVC at two different locations with Flash copy, Metro Mirror and Global Mirror configuration and various enterprise storage systems (DS8300, ESS, DS4800, DS4500 and NetApp devices) Lead storage refresh project to migrate from the old ESS to SVC/DS8300/DS4800. Develop migration plan and detail checklist. Develop scripts to automate the migration process. This greatly reduced down time for servers with large number of disks during the migration.Lead SAN refresh project to replace old SAN switches with new switches (Brocade 48000/4900). Replace core switches and move DWDM connections to the new switch.As the environment grows, setup new SAN switches; join the new switches into the existing SAN environment. Install new disk storage subsystem (DS8300/DS4800 etc).Upgrade firmware for all SAN switches.Upgrade firmware for DS4500/DS4800.Perform SAN zoning changes; assign new LUN to the servers as requested.Use DCFM to Monitor SAN health and performance. Identify and solve SAN switch problems.Monitor disk subsystem health and performance. Identify and solve the disk subsystem problemsManage TSM servers to backup 1000+ of Unix/Windows servers.Manage TSM backup. Install/upgrade TSM servers and clients. Working on a project to migrate peoplesoft/DB2 from mainframe to IBM pSeries servers in a very tight time frame.Install and configure 4 IBM pSeries server 650 with 9 LPAR. Install AIX and DB2 UDB on 9 LPAR. Leading consultant of project for CCB (China Construction Bank - one of the biggest banks in China) Sichuan and its 8 branches production system migration. Provide project plan, Install, configure and support with troubleshooting for the following systems and software: IBM RS/6000 SP, 7133 disk array with multiple hosts attached, HACMP, AIX, PSSP. As a mentor to junior engineers and lead of the project, I accomplished both customers and peers recognition.Leading a team of 5 engineers support IBM customers in 4 provinces. Supporting IBM products include RS/6000, disk arrays (7133, 7135), Network products, AIX, HACMP, and PSSP. It gives me great help for develop skills to manage multiple tasks under time pressure.
