Bar Manager
Events And Floor Manager
I took my pre-existing skills such as leadership, organisation, and problem-solving into this role, gained from my working career in hospitality, which I did alongside my studies at university. This allowed me to be more confident in my decision-making and communication skills to allow my team to carry out tasks, especially during busy periods. This was specifically tested when we had to work in a fast-paced and high pressure environment, with various workloads while carrying out other tasks on an adhoc basis. This allowed me to build on my time management and organisation skills as I had to dedicate and prioritise tasks. As a leader, it is important for me to show my team that I am willing to help and support them during these busy periods, so I would often assist them in their duties and encourage them if the shift was particularly difficult. My duties included meeting up with clients to discuss their ideas and goals for an event, and how we as a company can help them achieve their vision. I would help them devise a plan for the event and agree on appropriate dates, eventually leading to discussing the plan with our staff and making sure they are appropriately trained for the event. I would ensure that briefings were complete before the day of the event, as well as on the day, to clarify expectations and aims, and to discuss any issues that may occur during the event and how we can prevent any said issues from happening.I am responsible for the health and safety of the entire site, training in First Aid to support this duty. As the head of the First Aid trained staff, I would ensure that the First Aid kits were fully stocked throughout the entire site and that incident reports were made when any accidents happened. I’m also responsible for carrying out risk assessments and reporting areas of concern. Because of this invaluable training and the trust that my team has in me, I have been able to successfully apply First Aid to both customers and staff when needed
Supervisor
Supervised teams of up to six, ensuring roles are carried out successfully to guarantee smooth running of the restaurant and increasing profits. Adaptable in both front and back of house to provide full support to all staff. Full understanding of the company’s safety procedures and food hygiene practices, and awareness of COVID-19 procedures.
Trainer Mentor
Responsible for building relationships with 30 customers to support them in achieving a stable career or educational path while helping deal with social, economical, and mental advice and support. This included ensuring that safeguarding procedures were in place and producing comprehensive action plans where customers were set targets by myself. This helped my customers gain vital employablity skills while honing existing ones such as organisation and time management. This experience allowed me to gain confidence in my listening and communication skills, both written and verbal, and strengthened my organisation skills as I had to coordinate the group to achieve their goals.
Gcse Science Tutor
Responsible for safeguarding and arranging extra support for students when needed. Created lesson plans and built relationships with students in order for them to achieve high grades, and to fully understand core subjects they may have struggled with before. Provided feedback to parents and teachers to ensure student goals are reached. At the end of the year, my students achieved B+ grade and above where previously they were predicted C grade and below.
Lifeguard
Gained national pool lifeguarding qualification. Responsible for providing team building activities and understanding safety procedures.Ability to remain calm and collected under high pressure situations where my training was utilised. Dedicated personal time to keeping fit in the gym and swimming.
It Technician
From my time as an IT Assistant at Skegness Academy, I refined my practical skills and used my knowledge on computing to ensure projects meet deadlines. This experience allowed me to develop my organisation and communication skills, as well as grow into new skills such as programming language and managing my time well.I was involved in building, maintaining, and programming over 150 computers using C++ and Python for the school, where I also pre-programmed and implemented safeguarding measures for both students and teachers. I ensured that servers were maintained by running efficiency software and testing temperatures, and was also responsible for solving hardware and software issues that were reported to the IT department.
