Hi, my name is Willy Wright and I am a recent graduate of Ithaca College with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism with a minor in Sports Studies. In high school, I took a class writing for the school newspaper, which inspired me to become a journalist. At Ithaca College, I continue my passions of journalism and athletics by writing for the sports section of The Ithacan from 2018-2020, where I wrote game recaps, features and preseason previews. Through my classes at IC I have experience in podcasting, curatorial, visual, and investigative journalism. I also had the chance my senior year to write for Ithaca Week, where I created video packages and written articles, while optimizing content on social media. From my minor of Sports Studies, I examined many societal issues in the world of sports which shifted my perspective on a variety of topics. I aspire to continue to combine my two passions of journalism and sports into becoming a writer for a sports magazine. Either that, or travel the world, creating a blog or writing for a magazine, detailing my excursions.
