While at Mercedes-Benz, I received hands-on engineering experience in the areas of process, quality, and maintenance engineering underneath mentors expert in their respective fields. During my three terms, I worked to modernize some outdated reporting and data analysis methods employed by engineers, reducing time, effort, and ultimately cost in the process. I learned and employed CAD to design parts and tools to make team members' jobs quicker and less intensive, and troubleshot lab machinery to stay on pace for the given quarter. I also oversaw and analyzed the helium leak-test, a process which checks for leaks in defined points on the body of the battery and guarantees water-tightness for safety purposes, in the absence of the responsible engineer. Similarly, I analyzed data from tests conducted on the thermal paste applied to the individual cell blocks within the battery housing to verify adequate coverage for successful heat transfer from the cells.

At Reedy Press, my role was to determine the most profitable markets to release our titles in and find willing authors for these titles. Through collaborating with local sources and contacts, as well as my own professional research on their works, I vetted and connected with quality candidates from around the United States to find new and talented writers. Once this vetting and outreach process was complete, I worked to schedule interviews between potential authors and fellow Reedy Press employees

At Reedy Press, I worked to edit and send press releases to local and national media outlets for the benefit of our authors. I pushed for our published works to be seen by as wide an audience as possible by scheduling television and radio interviews on our authors' behalves, as well as helped formulate seasonal promotions. Similarly, I was tasked with contacting retail and private outlets to sell our products directly to them, which gave me valuable sales and personal skills.

At Stormwater STL, I supported the company's field operations. Our focus was stormwater facilities compliance for industrial and commercial clients within the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD). I worked in a team environment where we built, restored and maintained EPA required stormwater treatment facilities such as bioretention basins (aka raingardens) and porous surfaces including asphalt, concrete and pavers. Through this work I gained firsthand knowledge of local compliance regulations and the facilities that are used to treat stormwater to reduce pollutants in our waterways.
