Designed, programmed, implemented and tested a variance report utilizing PRG-SQL-ILE on the AS/400 in conjunction with VBA-Excel. This product generates all of the source data on the AS/400 back end and is presented in an Excel spreadsheet format that the clients are familiar with on the front end. The spreadsheet allowed the user to select from a predefined list of production figures and compare them utilizing a running variance. Various time periods were also selectable. Participated in a project to integrate an ERP package with a supply chain management system. All work was performed using PRG-ILE and RPG-SQL-ILE on the AS/400 platform. I wrote, tested and implemented various batch processing programs to extract data such as sales history and model information. Other responsibilities included performing program maintenance as well as the design, programming, testing and implementation of interactive, data entry and subfile type programs. Additionally, I provided analytical expertise, assisting in troubleshooting design specifications and providing data to the design team in excel format.Designed, programmed, tested, and implemented an automated process (in RPG on the AS/400) to provide a third party vendor with Model and Part information. This process analyzes the Model/Part information for a particular customer and programmatically determines if any add, change or delete action was taken. Each month the application summarizes all of the changes and FTP’s a Delta file to the vendor.

Designed, programmed and implemented an MS Access application to collect survey forms and generate statistics based on survey responses. Designed, programmed, tested, and implemented an application to track manufacturing performance. This application collects data from a variety of other sources on several different platforms. Utilizing multiple technologies such as RPG-ILE, ODBC, FTP, Excel and VBA a user friendly spreadsheet was made available at several levels of detail. For the individual manufacturing locations, an excel spreadsheet with their performance information (Including History) was available, while at the corporate level all locations were available for review and comparison. Subsequent updates to the original concept included a web enabled version of the corporate model. The web version was designed and programmed utilizing HTML and ASP for the front end and accessed the existing data from the AS/400 back end using an ODBC connection.Participated in all aspects of daily maintenance and troubleshooting for the MIMS system which is the Maintenance Information Management System utilized by multiple locations. My responsibilities included maintaining existing programs, performing analytical functions and writing new programs when needed.

While consulting for a major Re-Insurance company participated in the following significant applications;- Y2K Application and Data File Modification of an Insurance Brokering System. This application consisted of 4500 AS/400 Objects.- Performed Y2K impact analysis.- Designed, Developed and Implemented the Data Expansion & Migration process for the completion of the Y2K project.- CISC to RISC migration analysis and implementation.- Enable View Only user access for a Document Tracking Application written in Access.- Created an Access application for Standardization of Client Insurance Exposure Data. It standardized and summarized data from a wide variety of sources and formatted it in preparation for export.- Created an application providing the Client with a centralized Name and Address database. Name & Address information was downloaded from the AS/400 and organized into an Access database.- Wrote an Access application to enable the user to track contract offerings and negotiations.
