I am a junior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee and I'm working toward a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Accounting and a collateral in Finance. I'm also pursuing a minor in Philosophy. I have always been a hard worker and going above and beyond in performing tasks is one of my strengths. In my current position as a Front Desk Associate at Planet Fitness, I always meet or exceed the standards for my job, including cleaning the gym and working with members to fix issues regarding their accounts. I have consistenly received praise from my superiors regarding my work ethic and general job knowledge. My career goal is to work in tax or audit advisory for a public accounting firm. I have always been a strong believer in holding people and corporations accountable and ensuring they are abiding by the rules set for them, which has led me to develop an interest in auditing. I am specifically interested in auditing non-profit organizations and public institutions in order to provide them with assurance and find any potential material issues with their accounting systems if neccessary. Tax accounting is also something that has always interested me, as I have a strong attention to detail and enjoy analyzing things to their finest parts. I believe that a tax or auditing position in a public accounting firm is the best way for me to utilize my strengths and generate a positive impact for not only the company I am employed with, but society as a whole. I am planning on graduating in December 2025, and after that I plan on attending a Masters of Accountancy program and sitting for the CPA Exam. I want to work for a firm whose values align with mine and I feel that I am making a positive impact, whether that be through auditing non-profit organizations or preparing tax returns for individuals or corporations.
