I worked with our product and technical teams to deliver system enhancements that drove large savings in man hours. For all my team members I want them to spend the minimum time administering change and the maximum time delivering change on the site, helping customers and driving sales.I also leveraged new site functionality to deliver increased sales of £9 million per year through a single page. I have since been able to iterate changes to the page so that it is a significant source of profit via supplier revenue and is also enabled for personalisation to align with our key online strategic direction. The page has been a revelation for certain products seeing us deliver massive proportions of all Sainsbury’s sales on items like stamps, batteries and even daffodils.Building on the learnings from this page I have also been able to optimise a similar existing page on the site to increase sales by 70% year on year worth more than £10 million. As we transition away from Omniture to Google Analytics we are able to understand even more about how our customers are interacting with the site. By using Adobe Omniture analytics I was able to instil a test and learn approach in my team. As we completed tests and initiatives to drive sales and optimise the customer experience we shared the learnings via a weekly newsletter with the entire Ecommerce team.In all my roles I have championed a shared learning approach. If I believe something can benefit other teams I will always let them know and if someone else can share something with me that can help me do a better job then I definitely want to hear about it.In this role I also set up with 50p challenge within my team. The premise was pretty simple; if we can come up with trading initiatives that add up to a 50p increase on the average basket spend then it will deliver 100’s of £thousands in sales and often be the difference between a good week and a great week. It also encourages new ideas and is a great way to kick off a Monday morning as all members of the team feedback on what were their ideas and what were the results. Show less -

In covering our non-food grocery categories I was working with large suppliers like P&G, Unilever and Heineken to execute their online initiatives with Sainsbury's.I greatly enjoyed the opportunity to learn about a completely different area of the business and loved the immediacy of online where I could see the customers interacting with the outputs of my decisions straight away. I was also able to work with the core categories to help them understand what online was delivering for them even at this early stage and how we could work together to deliver my benefits for the business and customers.
