Key Roles & Achievements. I am responsible for coordinating integrated service delivery at the settlement health facilities, which encompass a wide range of services such as maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases, nutrition, HIV care, and reproductive health. I conduct learning needs assessments and provide just-in-time training, mentorship, and overall leadership for the multi-disciplinary team working in the settlement facilities. Additionally, I monitor infection prevention and control practices and ensure that facility-specific IPC Standard Operating Procedures are adapted and adopted in accordance with National Policies. I collaborate closely with the Yumbe District health team and other stakeholders to maintain effective and cordial relationships with District Health authorities, district officials, community leaders, and other NGOs. Moreover, I ensure consistent and timely collection, reporting, and utilization of facility-based health and IPC data to inform decision-making processes

Uganda

Key Achievements. During my tenure, I actively participated in the implementation of the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) project focused on reducing post-operative sepsis, with a specific emphasis on theater-related interventions. I was also part of the Covid response and treatment team, where I provided mentorship to lower cadre health workers on infection prevention and control (IPC) measures within the hospital setting. In addition, I conducted reviews, diagnoses, and treatments for various medical and surgical conditions in both adults and children, including patients with Covid. To enhance my professional development, I actively engaged in weekly continuous professional development sessions held within the hospital. Performing emergency and elective surgical procedures was an integral part of my role. Notably, I conducted over 20 cesarean sections and provided assistance in numerous others, along with performing procedures such as herniorrhaphy, hydrocelectomy, laparotomies, and more. Lastly, as the head of interns at Moroto Regional Referral Hospital, I assumed the responsibility of creating schedules for the interns, representing their interests at senior management meetings, ensuring their well-being, and ensuring their presence at their designated duty stations.

Key Achievements. Actively participated in daily ward rounds alongside doctors, contributing to comprehensive patient care. Engaged in diverse outpatient departments and clinics, including the ART clinic, gaining valuable experience in different healthcare settings. Assisted in a wide range of minor and major surgical procedures, showcasing strong clinical skills and attention to detail. Provided impactful health education to both outpatients and admitted patients on a weekly basis, promoting awareness and empowering individuals to take control of their well-being. Demonstrated leadership skills as the head of student volunteers, successfully managing schedules and ensuring their commitment to assigned duties.
