I have taught chemistry at all levels, from general-level to Advanced Placement/UCONN Early College Experience chemistry. I have also taught biology, earth science, and general science. I received grants from the Toshiba America Foundation and Hewlett-Packard, and published in the Journal of Chemical Education. I'd been using student-generated wiki's, Turnitin.com, Classmarker.com, and other web-based teaching tools in my classes for years, but I wrapped up my teaching career by fully developing three online courses on Moodle: flipped honors chemistry, fully online philosophy of science, and hybrid, mastery-based biology.

While director, I have:-implemented a new block schedule-created a new online, mastery-based progress tracking system and trained staff to use it -created a new, structured, 1:1 student support and tutoring program-created a new hands-on summer credit recovery program-created a new student incentive and reward program-expanded our internship range to include Manchester, CT, in addition to the greater Windham area-revised and expanded the school's competency rubric-tripled math instructional time using a highly successful online approach-introduced common writing and standardized reading assessments -introduced restorative disciplinary practices-introduced Professional Learning Communities-increased time spent on student health and fitness -created several iterations of a project-based learning block-increased building security -all of the above were in response to data and regular program evaluations-adjusted many of the above in response to student feedback in "Town Hall" style meetings

Over 350 hours of internship. Participated in program evaluation, student discipline, resolution of staff difficulties. Assisted with numerous teacher evaluation cycles, teacher and staff interviews, student discipline issues, and professional development. Analyzed school climate survey, school-wide peer observation data, and SRBI data for intervention placement. Developed schedules for peer observation and lunch waves.

I believe every student is a unique individual with tremendous potential. As founder and owner of a tutor referral service for students of eastern CT, I produced marketing materials, met with clients and tutors, matched students with tutors, and handled billing and payment. I closed down the business in June 2013 to free up time in my schedule for the UCAPP administrator prep program.

I wrote environmental assessment reports, coordinated field activities, and helped plan and monitor remediation systems. I successfully coordinated and executed public relations activities for a very sensitive, high profile job.

I performed instrumental analyses of soil and water samples for an environmental lab, and maintained my own instruments.

Studied effects of imported fire ants and periodic cicadas on soils of Mississippi. Earned Ph.D. in soils science.
