As 7th and 8th Grade Level Team Lead, I led weekly professional development meetings. I taught English I, II, and Response-to-Intervention (RTI) to freshmen and sophomores, developing their skills in reading, analyzing, and discussing a wide range of topics from ancient world to modern literature. I was also the English teacher for the Freshmen Academy of Plant and Animal Systems, which focused on studying informational texts that connected to the overarching curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in agricultural sciences. I collaborated with the English department in developing multiple curricula that focused on bridging the gaps in knowledge for lower-performing students who subsequently showed exceptional growth in standardized testing and writing. I charted this growth as well as differentiated instruction for students using multimedia platforms and learning management systems such as Google Classroom and Canvas. I underwent annual professionalization training to stay up to date on best practices in and out of the classroom. Outside of the classroom, I was involved in several extracurricular activities at the school, acting as the Assistant Band Director, coach of the Mock Trial team, and faculty adviser for the Junior Civitan chapter. My responsibilities as Assistant Band Director included managing rehearsals for the marching, symphonic, and choral bands, providing individual lessons and feedback to improve the overall musicality of the ensembles, and leading performances as the concertmaster and pianist several times a semester. As coach of the Mock Trial team, I trained students in studying relevant case law and trying a mock case to put complicated legal concepts into practice. As faculty adviser for the Junior Civitan, I oversaw a group of students performing community service; I led students in campus clean-ups after football games during the fall semester and organized fundraisers and donations to the Manna Cafe throughout the year.

I taught two recitation sections of "Shakespeare for Non-Majors," designing engaging multimedia lesson plans, holding office hours to facilitate student understanding of Shakespeare's works, and grading undergraduate essays that analyzed a wide range of topics within his canon. I employed the use of learning management systems, primarily Blackboard, to provide feedback to students in this way.I also conducted bibliographic research, compiling and annotating multiple articles from various local and distant academic institutions, with Dr. Thora Brylowe on print media in the long 18th century, specifically regarding Mary Hays' correspondence with her literary circle.

I worked one-on-one with both undergraduate and graduate students to improve their grammar, rhetoric, and citation styles, including MLA, APA, and Chicago.

I was a co-chair of the Student Ambassador Program for the English Department, attending University events sponsored by the department and communicating with nearly 500 followers on Twitter with new opportunities and information on a daily basis.

I managed a classroom of 40+ students and facilitated their learning in subjects from English and European History to Geometry and Algebra I and II.
