•Provide financial support to management of worldwide corporate research organization.•Responsible for managing and developing budgets $155M, forecasts, and capital requests.•Financial accounting responsibilities include cash flow management, restructuring reserves, accounting closes, account reconciliations, and payroll.•Responsible for over $100M of cost reimbursement government contracts with various agencies for the corporate research group, including contract compliance relating to accounting, bid rates, forward pricing rates, proposals, audits, billings and invoicing. •Developed and maintained the process to calculate a commercial indirect rate and a Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) unallowable cost indirect rate for two groups, the Applied Research & Technology Center for its U.S. Labs and the Applied Research & Technology Center for the Tempe, AZ Lab. •Responsible for oversight of the government-approved time keeping system, including project costing, administration of the system, and training of all users.•Implement cost reductions for the corporate research organization, reducing cost from a budget of $155M to $50M which includes facility closures, headcount reductions, cost controls and asset sales.•Support Corporate Financial Planning in the following areas: ∙Facilitate $65M closure of income statements and balance sheets of the Global Software Group.Collaborated with finance teams in each country and Financial Shared Services to ensure accounts were closed. ∙Prepared invoices for Transition Services Agreements for divestitures ∙Provide various ad hoc reports and analysis. ∙Support the tax department during IRS audit for the R&E tax credit relating to the corporate research group, providing risk assessments and documentation to support the tax credit. ∙Decommission the local Oracle system to upgrade to the global Oracle system.

*Responsible for the accounting and reconciliation of the Sungard OmniPlan defined contribution software to the monthly trust statements for the Motorola Employees’ Savings and Profit Sharing Plan, Motorola Pension Plan, Motorola Employee Stock Ownership Plan and Motorola Puerto Rico Plans.*Responsible for the accounting and reconciliation of the bank accounts for each Plan.*Responsible for the 11K report and 5500 tax returns for each plan.*Daily processing of the Motorola daily stock valuation.*Cash flow management for daily operational activities.*Process employee contributions, inter-fund transfers and distributions for the plans.*Interface with the Plan Trustee regarding asset transfers for participant elections, including the purchase and sale of Motorola stock. *Coordination with the Trustee and the Motorola Corporate Treasury department for the cash activity for the Plans
