As a Deputy Sheriff Lieutenant, I am responsible for the leadership, administration, and supervision of the activities of the Major Felony Unit, the White Collar Crime Unit, the Computer Forensic Unit, and the Intelligence and Surveillance Unit. In addition, I am accountable for leading and managing a team of 24 investigators and five supervisors across Monroe County with a mandate to investigate crimes such as homicides, robberies, financial crimes, cyber-crimes, larcenies, fraud, burglaries, and assault.I lead and manage critical incidents, tactical situations, and criminal investigations; respond to significant law enforcement critical incidents and assume command as appropriate; review criminal cases and assignments; identify policy and compliance issues; propose solutions; and investigate complex, high-priority, and sensitive cases.Some of my accomplishments include the following:➥ Time-tested ability to analyze complex crime scenes, gather relevant data from various sources, set strategic priorities, and connect the dots to formulate a cohesive narrative that leads to successful case closure.➥Tasked with facilitating the onboarding of a new Sheriff administration in 2018, helping establish an efficient, 1,200-man department.➥ Able to prioritize, filter large amounts of information, and rapidly formulate strategic action plans to handle high-risk situations.➥ Consistently analyzed the strengths and capabilities of individual agents, placing them strategically in roles where they are most effective.➥ Responded decisively to a substantial uptick in digital and computer crime. I secured grants to improve the crime lab’s size and capabilities, procured high-tech software in line with industry standards, reorganized outdated lab procedures, and introduced new training curricula.➥ Build collaborative relationships with other sections, divisions, and outside agencies to coordinate activities, align strategies and balance competing priorities.

Reporting directly to the Sheriff and Undersheriff, I maintained 24-hour on-call availability for emergency consultation and response to crisis incidents as required.
