“Quantum Dot Nanocomposite Coatings for Sensing and Responding Applications” 
• Worked with an international team of collaborators on synthesis and formulation of coatings containing corrosion- sensing quantum dots.• Responsibilities included coating formulation, coatings testing, and quantum dot characterization and optimization.

· Coach students who are on academic probation to improve their study habits and academic skills.· Cooperate with the academic college advising staff to develop plans that students may employ to achieve academic independence and cope with other life circumstances that may be affecting their academic success.

• Act as a student ambassador to the College of Science and Mathematics as I work closely with the Dean during student and community outreach projects. • Regularly oversee and manage many student events such as campus tours and Open House. • Incorporate the local community in the Cal Poly events that take place both on and off campus.

“Graphene Oxide-Polyurethane Composite for Corrosion Inhibition” • Worked under Dr. Shanju Zhang with graphene oxide dispersed in a polyurethane coating for increased corrosion resistance and improved physical properties. • Produced and presented research exhibits and posters. Proficiently worked both independently and with various colleagues on multiple project objectives.

• Worked alongside a professor in a chemistry studio classroom to assist in a role similar to a TA. • Tasks included grading papers and lab reports, facilitating labs, stimulating student involvement during in class activities and making sure students were understanding concepts.

“Low-Gloss Latex Formulation via Emulsion Polymerization and ATRP” 
• Work with a team to explore, develop, and characterize inherently low-gloss acrylic latex.• Responsibilities include project planning, team communication and collaboration, synthesis via emulsion polymerization and ATRP

• I help communicate difficult chemistry concepts to students of all skill levels.• Also assist with skills such as writing lab reports, study habits and test preparation for students with diverse learning needs.

• Operated and oversaw the beach/swim area at a local park during the summer.• Ensured the safety of patrons during park hours • Assisted in the planning and execution of various park activities including triathlons and open water swim races
