I've been working in UI/UX field for over 15 years with my background being a mix of design and front-end engineering. I have diverse set of skills in both graphic design and software engineering fields, Both with 15 years+ of industry experience. After graduating university at the age of 19, I worked various freelancing gigs which included working on things such as: Interactive Touchscreen Applications, Video Production, Graphic Design, Animation, Web Design and UI Design.After a few years this led to a job at Easyweb Digital where I was able to cement my career in UX and Product Development. Here I was in charge of general graphic design tasks and worked on the various projects the company had in WiFi, Digital Signage and Touchscreens. Eventually, Easyweb Digital branched off into a separate company that began the development of a SaaS product known as Encapto WiFi (as a front-end design/developer lead), and later was moved to a new product known as Encapto MSP (to which I became a design lead/principal developer and eventually Head of Product Experience). https://www.encapto.com/wifihttps://www.encapto.com/Whilst at Encapto, in tandem with the technical and sales teams, I have designed several products and services that have been demonstrated at various high profile industry events (such as Cisco Live) and are on the forefront of simplified and intuitive customer experiences for Managed Service Providers. In terms of engineering, I have helped employ modern standards in the way of front-end development (using Vue.js as a front-end framework, state management component based workflows, Storybook for docs).In leading the design team at Encapto, I am always looking for ways to improve our processes and always striving to make better products. Some recent initiatives I've implemented include: using Figma for product design (design system, feedback and marketing), Improving cross-team communication, planning and organisation with Notion and FigJam and better product discovery strategy and marketing with collateral such as data-sheets, videos and engagement pieces. The most recent initiative I have spearheaded at the company is our new marketing strategy where we are using shortform video content to engage with our industry and community as a whole.To sum it all up. Been into design and building products since the age of 16. I'm here to stay.
