Principal Software Engineer
CurrentAs a Principal Software engineer, I helped TaxAct build Xpert Assist product from scratch. The product became major differentiator and revenue generating stream for TaxAct. Started with MVP release of the product using Serverless framework, lambdas running on Nodejs platform as APIs and Vuejs as frontend for the app. Later converted the app to run on proprietary App slice framework to run on Vuejs, .Net core and AWS ECS Fargate containers. Created technical architecture specifications and presented the overall architecture to the architecture board. Provided technical mentorship to the team of more than 25 developers spanning across multiple countries. Worked closely with Product team to groom requirements, provided technical feasibility study and created lots of A/B tests using Optimizely. Improved application logging, product monitoring, resiliency and observability using various AWS tools and Splunk. Implemented several machine learning models to run on Amazon Sagemaker for customer question classification and their drop-out rates. Created solutions to automate CCPA related requirements. We achieved our objectives by following agile development methodologies, ensuring effective collaboration & communication throughout the development process. Developed several strategic initiatives focused on applying the principles of decoupled design, UI app slices, containerization, distributed architectures, serverless computing, & data segregation patterns to create a flexible & scalable platform for our users. We leveraged the AWS Cloud to create stateless event-driven compute services & microservices-based solutions, improving the platform's agility & performance.
