As an animal care technician, it was my responsibility to maintain the general health and upkeep of the animals at the Buncombe County Animal Shelter. This included walking dogs, cleaning cages, administering medication, and monitoring the behavior of the animals. On any given day I was in charge of between 20 and 40 animals. This was a very physical and fast paced job that also required detail-oriented thinking.
