Coventry Healthcare serves more than 5 million members a full range of services for group and individual health insurance, Medicare programs, and coverage for specialty services such as workers’ compensation.Responsible for compliance of Coventry Healthcare's Bill Review 4 software with state regulations governing workers' compensation and auto insurance. Provided research, analysis, business and functional requirements development, test plan design, project management, coordination with other departments, and technical documentation in support of compliance-driven modifications to Bill Review 4. Provided training for application of SQL (IBM DB2), Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Visual Basic. Used Microsoft SharePoint and JavaScript skills to develop and maintain intranet site used to document Bill Review 4 Medicare Implementation Plan. Pioneered use of test automation and analysis tools designed to increase team's efficiency and effectiveness.

Designed key elements for one of world's first on-line shopping carts, including support for Cybercash (a Paypal predecessor), session tracking, and dynamic catalog creation and maintenance.

Wrote monthly column on object oriented programming for dBASE Informant (ISSN 1078-0246)

Provided database and user interface (UI) design consulting for Total Real Estate Management System (TREMS)

Provided analysis, design, and project management for the Environmental Data Management System (EDMS), a PC-based system used for tracking compliance with air quality regulations. This multi-user application included 15,000 lines of FoxBASE+ code and managed 60 tables. EDMS was installed at several major aerospace and electronics firms. Coordinated efforts of 4 full-time programmers. Successfully administered budgets totaling $70,000. All phases completed on time and within budget. Received Radian Individual Outstanding Achievement Award for efforts related to the development of EDMS.Assisted with the development of a relational database used by the US Air Force for tracking ground water and soil samples. Developed using Rhodnius, Inc.'s Empress/32 SQL-based tools on Sun 4 minicomputer.Assisted with the administration of an 80-node local area network.

Supervised staff of 12, including 6 ex-airline captains. Successfully administered monthly operations budget of $10,000. Reduced costs by automating clerical procedures. Designed and implemented aggressive advertising campaign, resulting in 85% increase in sales, an increase of $40,000/month. Increased market share from 9% in 1985 to 17% in 1987 (based on official FAA testing statistics).Designed and implemented data management system for direct mail marketing and tracking of student enrollment, graduation, and receivables. This application originally written in dBASE II, later rewritten in dBASE III Plus.
