I was originally hired as a Senior Systems Engineer and performed work closer to the Product Owner role. Over time I continued working towards becoming a Software Engineer through seeking additional formal education and via gaining more professional experience. During my time with the company I have worked on mobile, mounted, command post and cloud solutions for a wide variety of research and development (R&D) programs.During my time at RII as a Systems Engineer my specific role on any project depended on the team's composition and needs. I implemented software features and remedied defects, performed the full spectrum of systems engineering tasks, developed scripts to automate tasks, consulted on ways to optimize the devops process, designed user interfaces, established strong customer relationships with key stakeholders, contributed to the capture process, and worked closely with end users by providing training, collecting feedback, or eliciting requirements. As a Software Engineer, I have experience with creating mobile (native Android), web-based (React, Spring), and backend (Java) solutions. I have experience using Apache NiFi, Java, and Jolt for ingesting external systems' data into our cloud-based solution. I have written a novel AI/ML library to enable anomaly detection on an Android device and created other programs that were creative applications of AI/ML technology to real-world problem sets. I have designed data models, created APIs, and designed and implemented all aspects of new software applications.
