I am responsible for mechanical design and development of electrical modules for the automotive industry. I interact with OEM customers and suppliers directly during product development. I create all 3D renderings and drawings with CATIA V5, and perform FEA (ANSYS) and laboratory testing as necessary.

I am involved in the design of power distribution systems for the automotive industry. I am learning about the design of electrical housings from a mechanical standpoint--along with industry standards and plastic manufacturing at large.

I was part of the 2017 UM Solar Car race crew. We designed, built, tested, and raced our own car, Novum. I contributed to the suspension design and manufacturing. I designed window fairings--a robust mechanism that optimizes for aerodynamics and turning radius. I also contributed to composites manufacturing. We competed in the 2017 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. The race is from Darwin to Adelaide (3022 km) and is held once every two years. We placed second in our class, which is the best that any UM team has placed.

At UMTRI, I have had the opportunity to develop skills in scientific testing and analysis. I currently work on a project that attempts to better understand the effects of brute vertical loading on the human body. We instrument cadavers with accelerometers and strain gauges, and we also use video point-tracking methods. I assist with cadaver instrumentation/suturing, lab preparation, and the final cadaver autopsy.
