I am a first-year Statistics Ph.D. Student at North Carolina State University (NC State) where I am engaging in theoretical and applied statistics and its applications with the goal of utilizing my affinity for data and patterns as a data scientist or quantitative analyst in a research-based position where I can make a tangible impact on the world. Previously, I graduated with a B.S. in Statistics and a minor in Industrial Engineering from NC State. My educational journey has provided me opportunities to pursue many interests and further my skills in statistics and data science through opportunities such as a Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) at Carnegie Mellon University, a position as a Student-Manager of the NC State Softball team, and numerous data competitions (e.g., North Carolina Education Datathon, Plant Sciences Initiative Hackathon) throughout my undergraduate career.Additionally, I hope to be a role model for other Black men in mathematical sciences. A diverse room is a winning room, and we are an underrepresented community in many industries.
