I am serving 1700 hours mentoring students in a fourth grade class at PS. 83 in East Harlem through small group work, social emotional learning intervention, and attendance intervention. Six out of twenty students in my class are in NYC seeking asylum with their families from South America and Latin America. I work with them on translating their teacher's instruction, and working with them on learning basic english. I also co-lead an after-school class with 17 fourth graders. We do one hour of homework help, and then one hour of enrichment club, Monday through Friday. The enrichment club lesson plans are created by myself and my fellow City Year coworkers.

Promoted from general Tour Guide to Co-Head Tour Guide. Collaborates with fellow Co-Head Tour Guides to train new tour guides and to create the tour schedule every Monday-Saturday, and connects with prospective students through campus tours, information sessions, and one on one interviews as a Senior Fellow.

Supervised group of ten 6-9 year olds, 7 hours a day for two months, and managed their safety on public transportation. Designed and led science lessons for the group. Collaborated with my two co-counselors on overseeing hands-on urban farming lessons at the Harlem Grown farm.

Assisted elementary school teachers in grading and small group work. Provided direct support to elementary school students in math, science, and English help.

Administered group of fifteen 5-7 years olds, through a self-directed learning model. Facilitated my group in their self-exploration of arts and crafts, outside play, board games, and stop-motion film making.

Organized events to foster community for Jewish students and community members and created social media posts to advertise events.

I taught free writing workshops for children with other interns, did video editing, social media advertising, and data analysis for Uptown Stories, a non-profit writing organization based in NYC.

Taught a group of fifteen 5-6 year olds, campers an hour-long dance class involving warm-up, movement games, and choreography, and presented the choreography at the camp's arts festival for the campers’ parents and friends. (Summer job).
