I am co-authoring a book on the Doctrine of Discovery. The working title of the book is "Truth Be Told." And my co-author is Soong-Chan Rah. We are working towards an optimistic publish date of Columbus Day weekend 2017.

Serving as a speaker, writer, and consultant on Native American/Indigenous Peoples issues. Mark also works with numerous tribes and indigenous communities in the United States and around the world on how best to hold onto indigenous cultures, languages, world views and educational models while living in highly Western and assimilated environments.

The 2010 DOD Appropriation Bil (H.R. 3326) contains a buried apology to the Native People of the US. On December 19, 2012 I am leading a diverse group of citizens will host a public reading of this bill in front of the US Capitol Building.Our mission is to invite our nation's citizens and leaders, as well as members of the global community, to gather at the US Capitol on December 19, 2012 and join our efforts to communicate as publically, as humbly and as respectfully as possible the contents of H.R. 3326 (and the apology enclosed therein) to the Native American tribes, communities and citizens of the United States of America.It is our hope that this event will establish safe and honest common ground where a national conversation for reconciliation between our country and Native America can begin.
