Tech Lead engaged in coordinating, developing and maintaining solutions using microservices architecture integrated with legacy systems. Those solutions are composed of geophysical, HPC and machine learning algorithms tailored to assist the Petrobras exploration team.I would highlight that I:- helped establish the role of Technical Leader in both the sector that I work for and in our current contractor; and- led the development of Petrobras exploration’s first web application that integrates microservices architecture with legacy systems and uses machine learning. It has been successfully released and became a case for both new solutions and legacy applications that have to be migrated to modern technologies.In order to bring users' requirements to life, in collaboration with my team(s), we constantly had to: - prospect new technologies and strategies; - document and share knowledge; - conduct meetings to understand the stakeholders' requirements;- conduct PoC, PoV and experiments in order to mitigate technological risks and to better understand the stakeholders’ requirements;- specify new systems architecture using microservices and streaming;- conduct, develop and maintain solutions mainly using Java, Python and C;- integrate those solutions with legacy systems;- plan, test, deploy and promote new functionalities;- assert that all automation tools are up and running;- and, above all, make sure that everyone in the team shares the same vision regarding the users' needs and the target products because it would be virtually crazy to do all those tasks by oneself.

I was responsible for developing and maintaining: geophysical algorithms and applications, HPC and machine learning algorithms mainly using Java, Python, C and Fortran. All those aspects had to be integrated with legacy systems.During this period, I would highlight that I:- took part in the development and maintenance of algorithms, applications and data formats that are key to the exploration process and are actively used by hundreds of geoscientists;- helped promote the adoption of microservices architecture and frameworks like Spring Boot and Quarkus;- led the migration of old legacy desktop applications to new web technologies;- promoted the use of Electron in order to ease the integration between new applications using web technologies and legacy desktop applications;- had the opportunity to play a major role in the team that developed Petrobras exploration's first seismic deep learning algorithm to go to production, which is a salt segmentation algorithm using deep learning (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/337377837_Salt_segmentation_using_deep_learning); and- was responsible for several geophysical algorithms' optimizations, using GPU and CPU, which had a direct impact on the usage costs of Petrobras on-premises HPC resources.
