I am a Germany-educated Diplom –Ingenieur, RSA resident for the past 39 years.I can build on more than 40 years of my international experience in the fields of conceptual design/industrial engineering, design/process engineering, estimating, tendering, contracting, sub-contracting, contracts management, construction and commissioning management, hand-over of major contract works, in the following sectors: environmental protection; cement production; heavy engineering and -steelwork; bulk materials handling and opencast mining (also marine dredgers); comminution of raw materials and products;power generation (fossil-fuel fired) equipment and hydro-energy recovery; high, medium and low pressure pipework, flanged, welded and induction-bent, to most international codes;metallurgical beneficiation (direct reduction, pelletising&sintering, smelting) and conversion (casting, rolling, forging and press-forming);commensurate with the above is my knowledge of PLC based distributive control systems, inverter drives (up to 3 MW, 1kV), and UPS systems.I wish to build on my achievements and can offer a combination of practical experience and mostly up-to-date theoretical knowledge. I am conversant in formal contract structures like FIDIC, NEC, GCC, and SEIFSA, for EPCM and LSTK-type contracts, as well as similar European contractual frameworks (e.g. VDMA).I have in May 2015 been retrenched after almost 6 years of loyal service from Tubular Holdings, where I held the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer/Technical Advisor. Since March 2016 I had been working at Exxaro`s Grootegeluk Coal Mine, first for LSL as Quality Inspector on the backfill Phase 2 Project, and until September 2017 for SMEI/FL Smidth as Site Quality Manager on the GG1 Stacker and Reclaimer Replacement Project. By that time the project was nearing mechanical completion, and I had to undergo a minor surgical procedure.Since then I am looking for employment.
