Won Bo Shim is currently serving as Professor and Head in the Department of Plant Pathology & Microbiology at Texas A&M University. His research program is mainly focused on studying Fusarium pathogenesis of important agricultural crops such as maize, cotton, and watermelon using genetic and genomic strategies. He is also actively involved in teaching and mentoring at Texas A&M; he has continued to implement high-impact learning practices into his teaching, such as peer-interviews, open-technology classrooms, undergraduate research, and the development of undergraduate study abroad programs. Won Bo also passionately trains graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, helping them receive prestigious awards and publish high-impact international research publications.
