I'm a Chicago-based freelance writer and designer with many professional credits as author, developer, or graphic designer on sundry games, books, and magazines. My writing has appeared in The Escapist, Atlanta Magazine, Geek Monthly, Everywhere magazine, and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency. Additional clients include Turbine, Relic Entertainment, and Fantasy Flight Games. I've also been designing Wil Wheaton's recent small-press books.I served as a judge for the MacArthur Foundation’s Digital Media and Learning competition in 2007 and 2010. I teach world-building for games at Wofford College's groundbreaking Shared Worlds camp for creative-writing students. After cutting my teeth as line developer of Feng Shui: Action Movie Roleplaying at Atlas Games, I designed and developed games and books at White Wolf Game Studio. My game-related work has been nominated for ENnie Awards and Origins Awards.The dream is to go to the places, meet the people, and write about them. The aim is to hone my storytelling skills with fiction and nonfiction, find the heart and the limbs of modern and future publishing, and master the dynamic between the reader and the writing.
