As an executive at OCLC, I have the privilege of serving libraries globally. At OCLC, we help libraries connect their patrons with content and services, collaborate with other libraries to gain efficiencies, and improve their offerings. Our mission is to "Make breakthroughs possible" by helping libraries share what is known. In our business development team, we do this by partnering with the world's best STM and trade publishers, and the world's best technology companies, to support access to library content and services - whether through a library system or through Google, Wikipedia or other consumer-facing sites. We are always looking for new business partners who can help us better serve our customers. In our membership and research team, we make breakthroughs possible by creating original research that supports libraries, and actively engaging with our member/customers in a variety of ways. My love for libraries began for me as a seven-year-old, living in Lakewood, Ohio, four doors down the street from the Lakewood Public Library. The library opened the world for me. An avid reader, I earned an MA in English Literature and followed that with an MBA, and then followed by passion for learning and business into non-profit management at OCLC. In almost thirty years of working in this space, I've developed expertise in product management, content/collection management, relationship management, M&A, sales, and general management.
