Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the reliability programs for the Cellulose Compounds area of the plant. Focus on equipment end of life, maintenance technician training, lubrication programs, PM programs, and assisting operations in troubleshooting equipment issues.

Responsible to maintain safe and reliable operations of the plant during its closure process. Led a team of 18 personnel in both the maintenance and safety organizations.

As my role in production engineering has evolved, I have added the responsibility of working in our DeltaV control system. In addition to dealing with production issues, I now implement improvement projects directly into the DCS system. These improvements can deal with batch cycle time reduction, quality improvement, equipment reliability, and increased safety measures. This change in roles has shown me the deeper side of control systems and how small changes can interact across a larger system. Designing a change to minimize negative impacts is always a big challenge and calls upon my strengths in analytic thinking, advanced problem solving, and team work to create the best solution.

I am responsible for increasing the emulsions plants reliability while not impacting the quality of the finished product. Looking for no cost to low cost solutions to reduce down time and improve the plants efficiency is a large part of the job.

I have worked on designing and implementing capacity and safety enhancements for an emulsions plant. Projects required the use of onsite and offsite resources to meet goals on time and on budget. I worked on a performance enhancement program designed to add money to the bottom line at the corporate level. Projects were across multiple business units and involve the alignment of resources across different functional groups.

Gained the basic knowledge to begin to be proficient in chemical engineering. Learned to think outside the box while working on complicated problems. Worked as team leader on several technical assignments. Led senior design group to create a feasible technical design.

Created a testing method for high strain polymers to determine the amount of crosslinking in thermosets. Operated many mechanical testing devices such as an Insight and DMA. Mixed and polymerized many unique polymers using photopolymerization.

Helped create mass balances and block flow diagrams. Helped assemble an initial Management Level Schedule.

Ran and maintained sales floor and front counter. Closed and opened store. Scheduled deliveries and managed inventory.
