The NorthConnex tunnel was completed and open to traffic at the end of October 2020, which kicked of the Defects Liability Period (DLP). I've been entrusted the roll of team lead that oversees all activities on behalf of the Lendlease and Bouygues Joint Venture. This includes not just defects (contrary to popular belief) but it also involves working with the client and their O&M contractor to ensure the tunnel remains safe for public use.

Electrical Project Engineer part of the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Commissioning Team with focus on the ITS/TMCS network on the NorthConnex project.

I am currently part of the surface team Mechanical and Electrical team with my responsibilities being the ITS infrastructure for the 4 main interchanges as well as the fiber communication network for the entire project.My responsibilities include but are not limited to:*Facilitating and running of site coordination meeting between different sites and teams*Monitoring and recording subcontract progress and day work valuation claims*Managing scope assignments and site activities within the overall scope of the project in coordination with the site supervisors*Compilation of work packs*Ensure all project Quality Assurance, OH&S and Environmental requirements are documented and implemented.*On site construction inspection and verification. *Compliance checking and verifying against Australian, International and project specific standards and legislation*Design verification and construct-ability checks, documenting findings and solution suggestion to designers. *Budgeting, forecasting and monthly accruals for multiple contractors*Managing of Site and Graduate engineers as well Supervisors

*Assisting Engineers and Supervisors with the safe and timely completion of projects*Monitoring and recording subcontract progress and day work valuation claims*Managing scope assignments within the overall scope of the project through guidance of Project Engineers*Assisting in the development and review of engineering and construction documents including construction verification handover packs*Compilation and verification As-Built structures and drawings. *Compilation and completion of Quality documents. *On site construction inspections and verifications. *Compliance checking and verifying against Australian and International standards and legislation

The main area of responsibility is all Capital projects for the Mining house where I am located. The includes, research, financial feasibility studies, scope of work creation, procurement process, contractor management, safety during project execution and ensuring all standards and legislation is adhered to.Furthermore I am responsible for the overhaul schedule of the Continuous Miners for the Mining house where I am located. There is a total of 13 Machines, of which not all are similar, with a limited budget, thus a very limited area of exposure is also gained in the reliability engineering field.

As part of my exposure I rotated to the engineering support services of Sasol mining. This part of the company consist of specialist engineers with in depth knowledge in their field. While I was part of this team my projects consisted of two 11kV underground substations as well as assisting a senior Electrical engineer with surface substations and reticulation networks for a new Shaft that was being build for Sasol Mining.Key areas: - Underground legislation for electrical reticulation sub-stations - Safety systems for electrical reticulation - Project management including contractor management
